A project promotion planning group has been organized to develop the "Modernization of BPR/ISP (Business Process Reengineering/Information Strategy Plan) for the National Logistics Information System Focused on Export/Import Logistics", one of the e-government's 31 tasks.

This project is implemented by the Ministry of Information and Communication with the cooperation of logistics-related government offices --- Ministry of Construction & Transportation, Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Energy, Korea Customs Service, and Korean National Railroad.

The purpose of the project is to establish a convenient, simple and low-cost national logistics system from the user point of view; one that is related to export/import businesses, including cargo owners, logistics firms and other logistics-oriented firms.

For this, the planning group is collecting information on the user conditions related to export/import and their needs in order to reflect them in the project.

The survey questions are:

1. What is the status of your information system related to export/import logistics 2. What is the status of business being handled for government offices and private firms related to logistics for exports/imports 3. What are the inefficient aspects of business that can be improved through research of the difficulties and your needs related to exports/imports.

The results of this survey will provide important data that will contribute to Korea's efforts to become a Northeast Asian hub country, as well as enhance the competitiveness of users through simplification and reduction of procedures, papers, cost and time.
